Draft: not legal advice
This document is a product-specific draft and not legal advice. It must be reviewed and adapted by a qualified lawyer before launch. Do not rely on it as-is.
Cookie Policy
Clipwick keeps cookies to a minimum. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party ad trackers. This explains what we do use and how to control it.
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off.
- Authentication / session: set when you sign in, to keep you logged in and secure your session.
- Security: used to protect forms and requests against cross-site attacks.
- Preferences: small local-storage values such as your dismissal of the cookie notice.
2. Analytics
We use privacy-friendly product analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service. Our configuration is deliberately minimal:
- Plausible: a lightweight, EU-hosted analytics tool that is cookieless. When enabled it sets no cookies and collects no personally identifying information, so it needs no consent banner.
- PostHog (self-hosted): when enabled, this product-analytics tool sets a first-party cookie (alongside local storage) to keep an anonymous identifier stable across a visit, so we can measure funnels like sign-up and demo usage. It runs on our own infrastructure. Data is not shared with a third-party ad network. This first-party analytics cookie is the reason you may see a brief cookie notice.
Both are individually enabled by configuration; in environments where they are not configured, neither loads and no analytics cookie is set.
3. Third-party processors
When you sign in or pay, our processors may set their own strictly necessary cookies:
- Stripe: during checkout and billing, for fraud prevention and to operate the payment flow.
- The posting aggregator and authentication provider may set cookies needed to complete a connection or sign-in you initiate.
4. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party social or ad-network trackers embedded in the app.
- No selling of personal data.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in and payment. Because our analytics are privacy-friendly and, in the case of Plausible, cookieless, disabling them has no effect on your ability to use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data generally.
